NE PEZ Con/ Bus Trip to PEZ! The deadline for reservations for the bus trip to PEZ is January 1st! Please do not forget this means PAYMENT is due January 1st too. It doesn’t matter if you said you were coming, the bus company has to be paid. We now have four full size buses filled! At almost $1,000 per bus this is a costly trip so you can understand why we need your payment. Some people have said they are coming, but didn’t send payment yet. We can't cover all the people that stated they would like to come, but have not paid. Please send in your money, or your seat will unfortunately not be saved. Paid bus reservations will be given priority over non-paid. Once we have reservations for all four buses (paid) we will start a waiting list. We can’t guarantee another bus will be added, but if another bus is added price is subject to change. Here is the information again. Buses are standing by for “Convention registrants”. Streaming Web Cams from PEZ Convention in Myrtle Beach!

Hi Everyone, As you know I’ve hosted a few conventions. About 10 years ago at the Northeast PEZ Con we had a live web cam set up. A couple years ago we set up a web chat with the Swedish PEZ Gathering from our convention in Myrtle Beach. Technology has improved and it’s time to try something different. At the “PEZ in the Sun” Collectors Gathering (Myrtle Beach Oct 27-29) we are going to be testing new web cams/equipment. I want to make sure everything is in good working order for the “Northeast PEZ Collectors Gathering” and Bus Trip to the new PEZ Visitors Center. (which will be in April) The Northeast Convention/Bus Trip is something you will not want to miss. It would be better if you come, but if you can’t at least you will be able to see parts of it via the Internet. Wireless Internet is spotty at the Myrtle Beach hotel. But, I’m going to try to bring you some of the Myrtle Beach PEZ fun to your house. Who knows, maybe this will make you want to come to a convention! If you go to our web site www.Pezify.com you will see a couple links to “You Tube” and “Ustream”. We will upload videos to You Tube from the convention and also stream live web cams on Ustream. If you miss the live Ustream feeds there will also be videos there too, so check them out. On Thursday we will start testing the equipment. If all goes well with the Internet connection, at 8PM we will have a live video stream from the PEZhead/Parrothead Party from the convention hospitality room. Stop by and take a look…. Friday we will be posting videos and possibly have live web cams going from time to time. Saturday night at 7PM we will have a live feed from the PEZ Swap Party in the Hospitality room. Hopefully this will be a way to bring PEZ conventions to those that can’t attend in person and perhaps make you want to attend one. Sit back and enjoy the show….Happy PEZZING,Richie

Bus Trip to PEZ Visitor Center- Interested?

Bus Trip to PEZ Visitor Center-Are you interested?
We need to know now how many people would SERIOUSLY be interested in this trip. We will leave the Stamford Sheraton Hotel at 8AM on Friday April 20th, 2012 and board a coach bus for the ride to the brand new PEZ Visitor’s Center. Once there we will be treated as VIP’s with a “Special Offer/Event” for our “bus people/group” only. After a couple hours at PEZ, we will board the bus for the return trip to Stamford. On the way back we will stop for lunch at an “all you can eat buffet”. The buffet includes: Soups; Salad Bar; Hot Bar- Pasta with choice of 3 sauces including Marinara, Tomato Alfredo and a Cheese Alfredo, Meatballs, Sausage & Peppers, Fresh Baked Rolls; Brick Oven Pizza-New Haven Style Thin Crust Pizza made with choice of two toppings; and choice of Beverages- Sodas, Lemonade, Iced Tea, Hot Tea or Coffee.
You will get round trip bus ride, admission to the PEZ Visitor Center, the “Special Offer/Event” (only for those that take the bus), PEZ goodies, Special Commemorative Pin, Buffet Lunch and memories of a lifetime. The whole trip will cost around $25 per person. The cost of the buffet may be less for children, we will find out more on that. If you are interested please let us know ASAP. If we get enough interest we will proceed further and get firm prices and open registration. Space will be limited.

Bus Trip to NEW PEZ Factory Visitors Center! 2012

As you can see, PEZ is opening a visitor center the end of 2011. So, what is more perfect than to attend a convention and go to the PEZ factory? At the NE PEZ Con we asked around to see how much interest we will have in the trip. PLENTY!

So, on Friday April 20th 2012 we are planning on having a couple buses (for convention registrants) leave early morning from
The Sheraton Stamford Hotel, 700 E. Main St, Stamford CT for the trip to Orange. The bus ride will be about 1 hour.
This should be a great experience for attendees. A PEZ collectors group at the factory!

Right now- It looks like we will have plenty of people to fill a couple busses.

Its that time of year again. People are starting to make convention reservations. Yesterday due to the blizzard, the hotel in Stamford was unable to take reservations for the NE PEZ Con. They are back working again. Our web site has now been updated with an 1-800 number for hotel reservations so you will not have problems with hotel reservations. Just a quick note- if you are attending the Myrtle Beach PEZ Can, you have to make your way over to Broadway at the Beach. There is a huge, very cool candy store you need to check out. What can you do when not Pezzing at the convention? Hmmm

Tuesday was a great day. The convention dispensers came and also new samples for our line of PEZ licensed jewelry. If you are coming to the NE PEZ con, make sure you KEEP this dispenser IN THE PACKAGE! That's all I will say right now.
New Jewelry- Very soon we will have necklaces and ear rings with the PEZ Candy brick in gold or silver at VERY reasonable prices! Guys, you will be able to get silver PEZ candy brick key chain. Samples will be on display at the NE PEZ Con!
****Oh, I also have to add, if you are on Facebook please look for PEZ Collectors News and also "Got Pins" and click on to be a fan. The Got Pins page is replacing the PEZ Pinz page. I will be taking that one down because we were just licensed by another company to make pins with their logos. NE PEZ Convention

10 NE PEZ Con Charity Auction Pins are posted on ebid and can be found at http://us.ebid.net/stores/pcn-store . The auction ends on Sunday morning Feb 28th. We started the auctions a couple weeks ago to give people a chance to sign up for ebid (its free) and figure out how to place bids. Thank you to those that have come over to the auction site. Just so you know some of the pins have really low bids still. The money from these pins will go to Make A Wish.

NE PEZ Con-The deadline is almost here for early convention packet registration and discounted hotel rooms. After March 1st the con packet prices increase by $10, so please send in now. The convention will be held again in Stamford CT on April 8, 9, 10, 2010 but in a different hotel than last year. This time it will be at the old Sheraton Stamford Hotel which is now called the “Stamford Plaza Hotel and Conference Center” http://www.stamfordplazahotel.com . When booking your hotel room please make sure you book under the PEZ group and call 1-877-604-6072 or 203-359-1300.

The convention is shaping up to be another good year. As far as dealers we have over 25 signed up for the Saturday show. I know of at least 2 people liquidating their collections and we have one company that is coming and will sell a new, exclusive PEZ dispenser during the Saturday show. My 2 week update about ebid.net - GREAT SITE!

Here is a quick update about ebid.net. I spoke with one of the founders the other day. They are very excited about PEZheads joining the site-more on that soon. All of the auction listings are now showing up on Google searches. They added sub categories to the PEZ section for us. There has been an increase in PEZ items on the site. It’s been about 2 weeks since I joined ebid.net and have sold a couple items. I find it easy to use. The speed of the site is great. I closed my eBay store sooner than I said I would. Since my web store is out of service I opened two on-line stores there. In the stores I have PCN subscriptions, NE PEZ Con registration packets, NE PEZ Con Charity pins (please go bid on them-money to go to Make a Wish) and our new PEZ Pinz.
The Cost- FREE! If you want to sell with the free membership you only pay a 3% final listing fee with no listing fees. All auctions can start and stop when you want them to. One day or 101 days, or run until sold. If you sign up for a Lifetime Membership (only$49 this month) you get FIVE free online stores, no listing fees, no final value fees. If you want to add a gallery picture then you pay only 2% final listing fee. Still, no listing fees.
First- I don’t work for them. I didn’t know about them until I started looking for eBay alternatives. I think this site is good for us and our dealers. Low or no cost is good for us all! I’m asking all PEZ collectors and PEZ dealers to sign up. To make this work we need everyone to join and all of the PEZ dealers to open stores and start selling. The auction site will get big with our help.

NE PEZ Con- DEALERS PLEASE READ- The early dealer table reservation deadline for the 12th Annual Northeast PEZ Collectors Gathering is Monday Feb 15th. If you are planning on coming, please let me know. Due to the new “candy vendors” I will have to work on the floor plan soon so we can make everyone fit.
NE PEZ Con/Candy Expo attendees-The deadline for early convention packet (attend/absentee) registration and discounted hotel rooms is March 1st. Hi Everyone,
I go back a long way with eBay. They came/sponsored one of the early NE PEZ Conventions and I even helped them with the eBay Heart dispenser. There was another on-line auction company, Auction Universe that came to one of our early NE PEZ Conventions. Looking back, maybe we should have given Auction Universe more of a chance to grow and get better. But now we are stuck with eBay, or are we?

Now to get to the main point of my story. If you didn’t already know, eBay is changing their fee structure in March. Without getting into it all, they are raising prices, again! Listing prices are going up and final value fees are going up regardless of what eBay says. In the end when you sell, it will cost more. So, as of Feb 15th I will be closing my eBay store and removing my listings.
As you may know, I sell my rare PEZ Pinz through eBay auctions and also list PEZ Convention Charity Pins on eBay to raise money for convention charities. The good news is I found a new place for auctions which I will be using and I would like to see all PEZ dealers and collectors come over there to sell also. The web site is ebid.net. Quickly, it’s free to join for buyers and sellers. You can upgrade your account to a lifetime seller account, which has some good perks. During the month of February it’s only $49.95 for a lifetime membership. You can open, up to five stores, start listings when you want, end them when you want and run them as long as you want. Let them run until sold. Sellers can take checks, money order, Pay Pal or Google checkout. Oh, I forgot to mention the biggie- no listing fees and its way cheaper than eBay!

The auction site already has a PEZ classification section under Collectibles and they just added new sub sections for us: Current, Vintage and Other. Right now there isn’t any real vintage PEZ listed yet, some are starting to be listed now. I feel we can make this site big if we get enough people to start using it. I would like to get everyone to check it out. If we get enough sellers/dealers to sign up, then it will be good for all of us.
To test and see how things work I listed some PEZ Pinz samples (auction style) starting at only one cent and I started some at $1!!! I want to get a feel for the site and I want others also to check it out. If you are brave enough to sign up and bid you might get $10 pins for a buck!
Now either I am really brave or really stupid here. Hey, no comments! I also listed the Northeast PEZ Convention Charity Pin auctions on the Ebid site. Hopefully, we get the people that usually bid on our charity pins to bid at the new site. This year Troy’s Family asked that we donate the money to “Make a Wish”. So hopefully we will raise some nice money through the sales of these pins for the charity like we have in the past. It just will not be on eBay. So if you bid on our charity pins please check them out. Bidding ends on Feb 28th. It gives people time to sign up and bid.
